Our Valentine's Day

I'm pretty sure that I've got the smartest husband in the whole world. He knows exactly what I would consider a perfect date....No, not some romantic dinner and roses, he knows I would prefer to go snowboarding with a bunch of friends. So thats what we did! Our good friends Kunane had his nephew Lehi and his wife Claudia come visit him from Hawaii. They went snowboarding a couple of days before and loved it, so we asked if they would all like to come along with us. We had a blast with all of them. In this picture from left to right is Lehi, Claudia, Kunane, Me and Josh.
This is my very best friends Jamie. Josh knew the day would be even more perfect if she came along too, since I don't get to see her as much as I would like because we don't exactly live close to each other...oh ya, and her husband Zach came too! LOL

Here is Josh heading down the hill. I'm so good that I can snowboard and take pictures too..or it could be that Josh was going just that slow!

Josh and Kunane shredding it up!!

Ha ha...We also talked my good friend Mindee and J.D to come along. In the process of talking her into it, I also talked her into trying to snowboard instead of ski (which she has done before) This is how it turned out!! Just kidding...she actually did amazing, I think she might go pro!

Josh, Claudia and Kunane...taking a rest. By the end of the day our legs were just a burning!!

Me and Jamie again! Josh and I had so much fun with all our friends! I hope that we can all do it again soon! PS~notice there were no kids with us! Jace so mad at me for days for going without him! I tried to explain to him that Valentine's Day wasn't about him...it was about me!! LOL

This is all he asked for!

All Jace wanted to do for his birthday was go snowboarding, so that's what we did. We let him take a friend...he really wanted to take a whole bunch of them but we could only fit one with his brothers going too! Jace has become quite the little snowboarder. He doesn't even like to hang with his mom and dad anymore because "we don't go fast enough". We all had such a blast. This was the first time Clay and Gage got to go up on the big mountain and they thought that they were so cool. On the way home they said that they didn't like little beaver anymore cause it was too small for them! They are getting pretty good now too!! This is Jace's heaven, he is loving it and has already gone so much this year. Next year we are going to have to buy season passes for all of us. It's been a great thing for us to do as a family all together. We are saving our pennies now for next year!

Happy Birthday Jace!

This is the "what was I thinking gift" that I made for Jace's birthday. There is a story behind why I made this quilt and why I knew it was the perfect gift for Jace.

I made a quilt for Josh in high school while we were dating. When Jace was little, that is the blanket that he loved to snuggle with and have on his bed all the time. He actually used it so much that it wore it to shreds. I finally told him that it was time to throw the blanket away. He made me promise that I would make a quilt just for him.....2 or 3 years later...here it is!

On top of just making him this, I got the grand idea of piecing it together (for the 1st time in my life) AND I only had a week and a half to get in done, which I couldn't work on when he was home. CRAZY! Needless to say, I spend some very, very late nights sewing!!

Oh but he loved it and carries it everywhere with him at night! I guess it makes it all worth it in the end!!

Can't believe I've been a mom for 10 years now, it went by soooo fast. But I think the next 10 years might be a little harder for me with all the teenage stuff ahead. In another 10 years this kid will be 20...that is so crazy to think about!!

We had a little family get together on Jace's birthday. In this picture sitting on the couch is Uncle Kunane, Gage in the Green and Clay behind him, Jace and Grandpa Lynn, and my mom's head that is in the way!! LOL

I finally talked him into it!!

WOW!!! Is that the same kid??? I can't believe that a simply hair cut can make my little boy look like he is all grown up! Jace has been growing his hair out for what seems like forever. But once it started going into his eyes he started complaining about it. (and it was getting hard to make it look combed...my problem, not his) So I kept telling him that it would be so much nicer for him if he cut it....finally he let me make the appointment. He tried to get me to cancel it on the way there but there was no way I was going to let him change his mind now. Now that it's all off, he is loving it! I don't think he will want to grow it out ever again! Thank goodness!!!

Basketball 2001/2010

Josh Coached Jace's team again this year. They did pretty good, they are getting funnier to watch and starting to learn plays now! Josh had fun and is a great coach but he said that he was thinking that is watching next year sounded like a good idea!! LOL
Clay and Gage were able to be on the same team this year. This was Clay's 2nd year playing and Gage's 1st time. I was amazed when I saw how much better Clay has gotten since last year. He is quiet the the go getter now. Gage was a natural, but what do you expect when he has two older brothers that he is always watching!!

They've all decided that if you stand there and scream the loudest then they will pass the ball to them!! LOL
